2005 Monaco Diplomat 40PDQ ... VIN #1RF42464052032691 NADA's Motorhome Guide Price Report (as of May 3rd, 2016) shows my Monaco Diplomat 40PDQ's value as $94,520. (That value is misleading because NADA doesn't have the capacity to provide a value for all the options on my motorhome.)
Examples:
*NADA allows for only one 13.500 BTU central/Ducted heat pump ... whereas I have TWO (2)!!! *NADA allows for only one 30,000-35,000 BTU Furnace ... whereas I have TWO that are rated at 50,000 BTU.
*NADA allows for a 23" and a 32" Flat Screen TV ... whereas I replaced them with TWO (2)
HIGH DEFINITION TVs. (I replaced the stock TV's with a 32" LG LCD-LED TV and a
26" Sony LCD High Definition TV in the bedroom.) *NADA allows for any brand AM/FM/CD Stereo ... whereas I replaced the standard RCA unit
with a high quality Pioneer Surround Sound System.
*NADA allows for cabinetry upgrade from wrapped cabinets to oak ... whereas I have CHERRY Cabinetry with raised panel doors.
*NADA allows for one six way power seat ... whereas I have both Driver's and CoPilot's six-
way power seats. Additionally, the CoPilot seat is reclining with a articulated
footrest, and a desk area for the CoPilot.
*NADA allows for one power roof vent with rain sensor ... whereas I have TWO power vents
with rain sensors in the main cabin and a Maxi-fan in the restroom. The two close
automatically when it rains and the cowled bathroom unit can be left open and operating
any time.
*NADA allows for one bedroom slide out ... whereas I have TWO.
*NADA allows for a rear vision camera/monitor ... whereas I have a COLOR camera/monitor
with audio.
*NADA allows for a 3' and a 7' window awning ... whereas I have a 3' and a 10' window awning. *NADA specifies: "Tires should be in good condition." Mine are NEW GOODYEAR G670RV, 16-ply motorhome tires. VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Tires have a 10 year life cycle. After 10 years they are considered UNSAFE and should be replaced, no matter what the mileage and condition. NADA does not penalize the Motorhome if the tires are old!!! My tires had 49,000 miles and appeared near new. HOWEVER ... in accordance with universal safety standards, I replaced all tires three weeks ago with the brand new tires recommended by the manufacturer and those which were initial equipment. I priced six of those tires (mounted, balanced, installed, taxes, disposal fees for old tires) at Camping World, Dothan ($5500). NADA doesn't have a calculation for the cost of needed new tires!!! Buyer beware ... when looking at a 10 year old Motorhome with original tires!!!
*NADA doesn't have any figures at all for the following: HOME THEATER; ULTRA
LEATHER PILOT & COPILOT SEATS AND "J" COUCH; AUTOMATIC GENERATOR START; AUTOMATIC WINTERIZATION SYSTEM; ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM; KEYLESS ENTRY; PULL DOWN SUN SHADES; POWER PILOT AND COPILOT V ISORS.
WHEN ALL OF THESE ITEMS ARE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, MY MOTORHOME WOULD "BOOK" ... NOT AT $94,520 ... BUT SLIGHTLY OVER $110,000. OFFERING THIS "INCREDIBLY OPTIONED" LUXURY MOTORHOME AT $85,000 MAKES THIS ... by far ...
"THE BEST DEAL IN AMERICA".
